Join our Somatic Yin & Restore class in-person at Om Home studio in Rethymno or online via livestream from anywhere. Same class, your choice of location! Step onto your mat and into the blissful world of Somatic Yin & Restore, where we invite you to connect deeply with your body and release tension in a way that feels like a full-body sigh of relief. This is yoga with a sensory journey, where you’ll tune into your body’s sensations and let your bodily intelligence guide you through each moment of your practice. We’ll begin with a mindful practice designed to deeply engage the body’s connective tissues: the fascia, ligaments, and joints, unlocking energy channels based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. This is more than stretching; it’s about slowing down, sinking into each pose, and becoming fully aware of the subtle sensations your body is offering. As you hold poses for several minutes, you’ll notice how your body responds, how it opens, and how your breath flows effortlessly with the movement. Flexibility? Sure, that’s a lovely bonus. But the real magic happens when you truly feel your body waking up and releasing tension from the inside out. Next, we’ll ease into full comfort. Using props like bolsters, blankets, and blocks, we’ll support your body in deeply restful poses that allow you to fully let go and unwind. It’s all about total relaxation, giving your nervous system the space it needs to repair and restore, while your mind gently drifts into peaceful stillness. These long-held, supported poses are designed to nurture and heal, offering you the ultimate invitation to just be. And the music? It’s the perfect soothing backdrop, thoughtfully selected to encourage safety, stillness, and rest throughout your practice. The calming melodies will create a gentle container, helping you feel held and supported as you settle deeper into each pose and embrace the quiet that guides your body and mind into a place of complete relaxation. In-studio & Online: ॐ Arrive with presence – Coming 5-10 minutes early allows you to settle in, set up your space, and begin transitioning into your practice. ॐ Barefoot or socked – In this restorative practice, wear what feels most comfortable for you. Socks are welcome if they help you relax and settle in. ॐ Create sacred space – Please set your phone to silent so we can all honor the stillness and deep rest of our practice together. ॐ Practice with ease – We recommend avoiding food and drink for at least 30 minutes before class to support your comfort as you settle into longer holds. ॐ Dress for comfort – Wear layers and cozy clothing that allows you to fully relax. This is a deeply restorative practice where comfort is key. ॐ Honor your body – If you have any health concerns, please consult with your healthcare provider before beginning your yoga practice. Let us know of anything we should be aware of so we can best support you. ॐ Reserve your space – Class size is limited to ensure quality attention. If you need to cancel, please do so at least 3 hours in advance. We understand life unfolds in unexpected ways and appreciate your communication. ॐ Take a deep breath... we'll see you on the mat. In-studio: ॐ Shared journey – We offer a complimentary group ride from and back to the Police Academy near Rethymno's city center. Practice is accessible to all, transportation included. ॐ Mats available – All props are provided at the studio. Simply arrive and step onto your mat, unless you prefer to bring your own. Online: ॐ Your link awaits – Before each class, we'll send you the video link to join us from wherever you are. ॐ Gather your props – Have these items nearby to support your practice: - 1 myofascial release ball or tennis ball - 1 long strap (2.5 meter or longer) - 1 bolster or one firm pillow - 2 blocks - 1-2 blankets ॐ Camera positioning – Please set up your camera so we can see your full body on the mat. This allows us to guide you safely and offer adjustments when needed.
